Tools for rapid and reliable change of optical configuration at LIX

Abstract The LIX beamline (16-ID) at NSLS-II is a scattering dedicated to probing structures in biological samples. supports both solution and microbeam scanning structural mapping experiments. In addition providing stable reliable beam, the optical system must be able quickly change configuration support multiple modes of operation that require different beam properties such as photon energy spot size, with minimal effort from experimenter. order do so, we have fine-tuned components implemented automation. stability maintained using position monitors corresponding feedback on components. Vibrational instruments monitored correspondingly mitigated. We describe software devices developed automate changes outline process these tools during operations.
